LA Django Brings Pink Pony Love to the West Side
Some of the fine folks at Mahalo held the first LA Django meetup in Santa Monica tonight. I was glad to see some familiar faces from the djangoLA gang as well as a bunch of new folks that hadn’t made it out to the Pasadena meetups. It was actually at the barcamp that Mahalo hosted (was it 2 years ago now?!) where we first drummed up enough interest for the previous djangoLA meetups....
Behind the Blogs
I did some research into the back-end (and some front-end) technology on a few popular tech blogs for a potential project and figured I’d share the info I found here. These blogs are randomly chosen based on being high-traffic, content-driven sites. I suppose GDGT is more of a web app, but because it’s a fresh, new service, I wanted to see what IT choices were made by tech blog heavy...

Restarting Jessop's Clock
I had the pleasure of attending an event on November 5 where the newly restored Jessop’s clock installed at the Horton Plaza mall in San Diego was restarted.
